Tekemisen leima otsassa?

Kesän jälkeen jätin mainostoimiston johtotehtävät ja tein taas päätöksen, että en enää koskaan palaa niihin. Uskon olevani parempi suunnittelijana kuin johtajana.

Keski-iänkriisi voi muutoksista huolimatta hyvin. Mainosmies ei pääse raidoistaan. Oman mainostoimeni ohella olen kuitenkin päättänyt käyttää pienen osan ajastani – ehkä päivän viikossa – pienten ja aloittavien yritysten markkinoinnin konsultointiin. Perustin tätä varten oikein oman yhtiön. Panostin nimeämisessä helppouteen: Oy Omskakas & Bros Ab.

Aluksi olin tekemässä yritykselleni hienoja nettisivuja. Mutta totesin, että tärkeintä on aloittaa oman leiman tekemisestä. Tänään kävin tilaamassa sellaisen – tilasin samalla kaksikin erilaista. Virtuaalisen elämän aikakaudella uskon leimanlyömisellä olevan ylöskohottavan vaikutuksen.

Jo leiman tilaaminen oli hieno kokemus. Leimasimien lisäksi Blue Signin myymälässä oli tarjolla sinettejä, sulkakyniä, musteita, plommipihtejä, polttoleimasimia, meistejä ja kohopuristimia. Luulen, että kun FarmVillestä loppuvat hevoisilta virtuaalikaurat, minun plommipihtini pysyvät ja paranevat.

Lyhennetyn työviikon ansiosta on rennompi fiilis, vaikka viides arkipäivä olisikin omistettu jollekin muulle työlle (omalla kohdallani lopputyölle). Omakohtaisia varjopuolia ovat venyvät työpäivät (en tarkoita, että viiden päivän duunit pitäisi puristaa neljässä, mutta aikataulut muuttuvat toisinaan vähän haasteellisemmiksi, kun ei ole joka arkipäivä paikalla) ja turhautuminen, kun se yksi arkivapaa ei tunnu riittävän toiselle hommalle ja muina päivinä on niin kiireinen, ettei ehdi tuntea kuin syyllisyyttä tekemättömästä hommasta (varmasti helpompi, kun ei tee isoa deadline-duunia vaan jatkuvaa hommaa).

Kaiken kaikkiaan nelipäiväinen viikko on kuitenkin mahtava, koska ajatus pitkästä viikonlopusta saa mielen kevyeksi koko viikon ajaksi, ja varjopuoliinkin pystyy ihan itse vaikuttamaan.

Luulen, että maanantai-valittajia olisi huomattavasti vähemmän, jos ihmiset alkaisivat nelipäiväiselle työviikolle. Mikä ihana ajatus.
